Objectives of the English Curriculum

   To facilitate a balanced development of pupils’ four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing and the Space Town programme has been implemented in KS1. The school-based reading programme has also been launched in KS2 to help students acquire effective reading skills and strategies through STEAM projects. We offer authentic learning environments and hands-on experiences to students to enhance their learning. Students can apply what they have learnt and extend their understanding of other cultures through a wide range of contexts. These experiences not only maximize students’ engagement, but also establish their interest and confidence in learning English. We have also employed a variety of teaching strategies to address learner diversity. Various tasks and activities have been developed to suit the specific needs of both less able and more able learners, as well as the needs of learners with different learning styles.
